Looking Back Feature - Lagunitas Chicago

Take a look back a few years at a great brewery install in Chicago. You've probably heard of the place... and if you haven't, you need to add it to your to-do list of breweries to visit. We're talking about Lagunitas in Chicago. American Industrial Werks started on this job back in 2013. We performed all the major lifting and then some to get this brewery operational...it was an experience to remember. Over 130 tanks and related pieces of equipment went into this 300,000 square foot facility during our time onsite and even more since then. Built in the same building as the show Chicago Fire was being filmed made it even more interesting. Inside, this facility was gutted and built from the ground up into the spectacular brewery you can visit today.

Check out our feature of the Lagunitas Chicago project (to include video) and see how a major portion of this operation came together.

Wind Turbine Installations

Take a drive South or West of Chicago, IL and it won’t be long before you see vast acres of land filled with wind turbines either running or being installed. In fact, according to the Chicago Sun-Times and the American Wind Energy Association, in 2011, Illinois topped the nation in the number of new wind turbines installations and ranked second only to California in the total amount of the turbines’ power capacity.

With about 50 wind energy companies in the Chicago area and approximately twenty eight companies in Illinois manufacturing components for the wind industry, this green energy business is booming. American Industrial Werks, Inc. is also taking part in this growth sector by specializing in the rigging aspect of generator installations in the field. In addition, it provides machinery moving and installation services to wind energy component manufacturers along with industrial curtain installations to control facility temperatures and dust from the manufacturing process.

Building Concrete Machinery Foundations

At American Industrial Werks we are widely known for our machinery moving, rigging and installation services. What is perhaps a little less known is our machinery foundation services. Some machines require a custom foundation with clearance pits, water and/or drainage. Other machines are so heavy they require a reinforced foundation with additional concrete, just to support the weight. When you're purchasing a new machine that requires such a foundation, it means dealing with multiple companies, coordinating the work and timing everything just right. Well that's not the case with American Industrial Werks. In addition to the machinery moving and rigging, for the installation, we can handle the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and even the machine foundation.

In above video, we build a concrete machinery foundation that needed pits, water drainage, and a lot of extra concrete to support a LARGE machine.
